I have exactly the same issue. I have no idea what's going on here. This push notification is completely unstable. I am disappointed cause I want to trust this service. If I have to lookup manually anyway I do not need a pushing functionality.

I have no idea why this helped but I simply killed the MAIL App (by pressing the Home button twice)
Now it works again on both devices iPad 3 and iPhone 4;
Question is how long :-)

@ chris.ebe, I tried that trick, and it sometimes works. Sometimes for a few minutes. Not only do I not receive pushed email, fetch does not work either. I have to manually open Mail to see if anything came.
Needless to say as a paying subscriber (yes, I paid for extra storage) with an iPhone 4 that is no longer covered I'm aggravated that there is no Apple support option for me. I suppose that's a better topic for another discussion.

Same issue here, push not working for me, and I can't find a place where I can report the problem without paying extra.

Having the same issue. Lots of people are having the issue as well. Check out the discussion at Apple forums.
