Unfortunately, the older AirPort Extreme does not have the settings on board to "Extend a wireless network", so if you want it to provide more wireless coverage, you will need to connect the Extreme back to your main router using a wired Ethernet cable.
If you can do this, post back for more instructions on how to set this up.

Let's clarify here.
I am assuming that the older AirPort Extreme will be located in a different area than the Time Capsule....several rooms away at least.
Then, you will have to pull an Ethernet cable from the older AirPort Extreme back to the Time Capsule to connect the two devices together.
IF you can do this, connect the Ethernet cable from one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule to the WAN "O" port on the older AirPort Extreme.
Then configure the AirPort Extreme to "create a wireless network" using the same wireless network name, same wireless security settings and same password as the main wireless network.
The final step in the setup would be to insure that the older AirPort Extreme is configured in Bridge Mode.
The guided setup in AirPort Utility 5.x.x will basically step you through the setup.
