Thank you for your help - Serif is a free photo editing suite, perfectly fine and above board but not for Mac! So I still can't open iPhoto, even though I have downloaded GIMP for OS X, successfully. (Another Photoediting suite). OPl
Please could you tell me how to uninstall the download?

Downloading this app will not do anything to iPhoto. The installer won't run on your mac. So, perhaps best to give a full account of whatever problem you have with iPhoto, including the version you have and details of any error messages you get.
