Can you clarify the question.   Your profile says 10.6.3 but you say you have LION.   You go on to say that you upgraded your Lion to Snow Leopard.   Snow Leopard is below Lion in the pecking order.

With 10.6.3 you can upgrade to 10.6.8 and then on upwards to Lion.  Is that what you have done and then found yourself with the crashes?

Try restarted with no third party USB devices attaches, ie only apple keyboard and apple mouse and see how far you get.  Next step would be make a new user account and see if it has any problems.  No problems means its probably something on your normal user profile, extension driver etc.

nope sorry it was not lion it was leopard. I had 10.5 something (I don't remember well) and I have upgraded to 10.6.8 that I have now.

And now I always have crashes using simple programs like firefox or word or finder that I have never experienced with leopard

I only have the mouse & keyboard already...

I will try with a new account but the third party USB devices are not my problem!

    Okay.   I suggest you ...

Repair permissions.   Now install Snow Leopard combo version.   It won't hurt if you are installing over the top of the previous Snow Leopard version but I think you installed the basic Snow Leopard.    Then repair permissions again.

You should repair permissions both before and after the installation of any upgrade.

    Then see how you go.

    Regards

Of course; this pre-supposes that you obtained your original Snow Leopard 10.6 from the official DVD.   You cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard from Leopard 10.5 and the combo updater can only upgrade 10.6. (6, I think)
