Need larger than a thumbnail.
Doesn't matter how large the photo, it drags in as a thumbnail.

As a matter of fact I have never seen it mentioned before. Perhaps only a few people need such an ego-trip every time they send an email.
The normal way is to add a photo within the text or as an attachment. The Signature only handles thumbnails.
But you can send your suggestion to Apple via their feedback link:
It will be read but you will not receive a reply.

the big problem with ego-trips is I try to take too much luggage.
(I don't see a way to make this font larger.)
Is there an email I can use to show you the signature I've got going?
I think you'll find it interesting.

I have it working (it seems). I've seen some strange things happen on the road to reaching this point.
I now have three photos, and they're bigger than thumbnails.
I never wanted Large, just bigger than thumbnails.
I'm also aware of reports that 'signature photos' are not seen in all email systems.
So far, those I've queried can see the photos.
Time will tell.

Hi, good to hear you're making Headway!
If the other end is set to using Plain text then none of the fancy stuff will work, & many use rhat setting for safety & speed.
