Jun 2, 2012 11:02 AM in response to ktarterby den.thed,When you are searching for an External DVD (LG, Memorex, Samsung or other) Drives, you need to make sure that they are OS X compatible.
I'm using an older > LG GE24LU20 Reviews and it works fine with my iMac and Mac Mini.
Others say that the > GP10 DVD and Blu-ray™ Drives IT Products also supports OS X.
For other OS X compatible DVD Drives:

and > LaCie - LightScribe DVD±RW, Duplicators and Blu-ray - USB 2.0 & FireWire

Jun 2, 2012 6:38 PM in response to den.thedby ktarter,Hello, I was aware that I needed to check the OS. Both are compatible. I have fixed the issue. I had to unplug another external hard drive as it was causing a conflict for the new external DVD. Thank you for your response.
