Leonie mentioned this in another post so I thought Id ask anyone having the problem.  Are you running Final Cut Express??

Unforetunately, that's just Aperture.  It crashes regularly.

Apple has never been able to produce correct multi-threaded code so that's what I'd check first in your crash log.  There are two threads performing graphics at the same time - one drawing the GUI control you're dragging and one for rendering the image.  The thread that was drawing the GUI control crashed.   I've found that clicking points in the adjustmet sliders rather than dragging them reduces Aperature crashes.

Adobe and Apple are competitors in this field.  My experience is that Adobe's photo software has the hideous GUI of a 25 year old mainframe application but it doesn't crash.

So for me, the un-checking that box in the preferences did the trick.

    Nicojo,

    that is really interesting:

is it unchecking the preference "Create new versions when making adjustments" that prevents the crashes, or is it not making new versions at all - can you edit a new version without crashing?

    Regards

    Thanks Nicolas!

In any case, I haven't had a crash in 2 weeks, so I'm happy

Then I'll keep my thumbs crossed, that it stays that way!

    Cheers

    Léonie
