Hello and welcome to the Support Community

There are a few options open to you. You can increase the memory from 512 to 1GB (1.5 with built in 512)
Free space on your hard drive is always a good option. More hard drive space by replacing your hard drive can always help. Check what program's you are running in the background. If you have any unused monitoring software, you could always close and delete. That will free up some processing power.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not too familiar with the terminology and using the ibook. I don't have any other programs running in the background, so does that mean that I need to physically replace the memory? How can I delete old programs? Meaning where can I find them?

Hello,
The iBook comes with 512Meg already built in. You add more memory (max 1GB) This is easy and there is a guide on how to add memory here:

It's easy to delete unwanted programs by going into your applications folder on the Macintosh Hard Drive and placing them in your trash can. Like you would do a file or folder.

Just make sure you don't delete or uninstall application you use or need.
