Jun 12, 2012 1:31 PM in response to kaczyby léonie,my Mac of Snow Leopard
Your signature says Mac OS X (10.5.8)?
From the App Store you can only buy Aperture (3.3).
How did you initially install Aperture on your Snow leopard system? Did you upgrade from the Trial Version or buy an installer DVD for Aperture 3? If you still have the trial installer or the DVD, use this to reinstall. Was Aperture 3 originally installed on your Snow Leopard system and do you have a Time Machine backup?

No, I corrected to 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). I have a trial version. I wanted to buy today, Aperture 3 for Snow Leopard (version 3.2.4) but it's impossible. I can not upgrade to Lion (iMac 2006 - 1.8GHz, 2GB of RAM - this is max). It's not fair for me.

Jun 12, 2012 2:34 PM in response to kaczyby JJakucyk,That's a good question. I got my copy of Aperture through the App store and I'm on Snow Leopard. I can't upgrade to Aperture 3.3, but how do I update from 3.2.3 to 3.2.4? The App store only offers version 3.3.

Jun 12, 2012 2:37 PM in response to JJakucykby léonie,From the Apple support downloads page:
Aperture 3.2.4

Jun 12, 2012 2:39 PM in response to léonieby JJakucyk,That doesn't work because the registration is tied in to the App Store. So downloading and installing from that link would result in an unregistered copy.

Jun 12, 2012 2:41 PM in response to kaczyby léonie,You still might be able to buy a boxed version of Aperture 3 at a local Apple store, but that will be much more expensive than the download from the App Store.
Since you cannot upgrade your machine to Lion, I'd stick with iPhoto, until you will invest into a new computer. iPhoto libraries now can be opened by Aperture, so any work you invest into an iPhoto library will not be lost, once you transit.

Have you tried it?
That link points to an Upgrade Installer. I have frequently used the direct support upgrades to upgrade an application bought from the App Store.

Jun 12, 2012 3:07 PM in response to léonieby JJakucyk,Yes, when I try to run the update package I get the following alert:
"The version of Aperture installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available."

Jun 12, 2012 3:17 PM in response to JJakucykby léonie,And have you checked your Updates Tab of the App Store? It should offer you the update, even if the most current version is 3.3. You need to be signed into the App Store and keep the AppStore running for some time, for the updates to show in the Updates Tab.

Jun 12, 2012 3:23 PM in response to léonieby JJakucyk,Yes leonie, it's offering 3.3, but if I try to use it then it says it can't install it because it requires Lion 10.7.4 (as you'd expect). It doesn't give me any option to download 3.2.4 instead though. It's like the App Store only offers up the most recent update available.

No, I dont' want iPhoto. I need Aperture 3. It was available in the Mac App Store for Snow Leopard for a good price. At this moment I feel just cheated. Many people have a problem now - they have bought and can not update / reinstall. I can not buy. It should not be so. I'm sorry for my english.
