Q: iBooks download problem (storage space)

Hi (again).

I have six books in iBooks on my iPod Touch. Tried to download another, but get the message "not enough available storage". Also, "manage storage in Settings".

Bizarre, as I have 0.04gigs in iBooks and 24.8gigs free overall.

So, I went to Settings, but the only option it gives me is to delete the app!

Is there any way to add storage space to iBooks? Why would the iBooks app only allow so few books to be loaded???

Any help appreciated.

If you connect to iTunes, can you see how big your "Other" section is? If it is larger than 1GB, you might need to restore your device, there may be corrupt data on it causing this message.

Nup. "Other" is 0.55gb. Thanks for the thought though.

Did you try to install the iBooks app again?

Did you try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button for about 10 sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

If this does not help, try to set it up as new device:

    Hi Ingo2711,

Ouch - a new set up? I did that not long ago and I'm not keen to go start again, again.

I've tried the other suggestions though.

Do you know how many books (of average size) an iPod Touch should be able to carry, or rather how many gigs iBooks can be assigned (and how)? The Guide and the Apple site is not clear on this. ie I haven't been able to find any details.

    - The size of books varies to much to make average usful. What is the file size of the book you are trying to download?

    - Try download the book on yuor computer and try to sunc the book to the iPod.

    Illaas,

Yes I realise it's impossible to gauge an "average" size. I was hoping someone knew how many gigs storage iBooks has. To me, trying to be logical, the app should keep on loading books until the iPod Touch itself was full.

In any event, I think it was the book itself that was causing the problem, not iBooks. I have since downloaded two more books, and had no problems.

Thanks for your suggestions, anyway, guys.

I'd love to know how to delete the iBooks app. @sarinmdPlease share the exact steps to get to the option to delete it (iOS 9.3.1).
