    How old is the iPod?  How long have you left it to charge?  How exactly did you try and do the hard reset?

    iPod won't turn on

    some 1 year old ...... charged for 45 to 50 mins .... hard reset by holding menu and the centre buttons for 15 sec ................................... in itunes it doesnt show my device but it says it has detected an ipod ........ pls help!!!!!

    Well if the iPod wasn't powering on, then there is no way that your PC would be able to detect it any way.  Are you positive the backlight hasn't gone out on the LCD display?  Take a flash light to the iPod's display with it still connected to your PC?  Do you see anything on screen?

     

    Perhaps you can hold both the Center and Menu button combo for a bit longer than 15 seconds as well to see if that helps.

    My PC detects the ipod but it says some error 6301.................... no backlight at all .............. and that combo also doesnt work........

    It sounds like a hardware issue with your iPod.  Try connecting it to another PC with iTunes to verify that.  I haven't ever seen a 6301 error before...
