Q: I have songs that are matched that won't download to my iMac or iPhone

I have songs that say they are matched in iTunes Match, but when I try to download them on my computer or phone, a message pops up saying "The item you have requested is not available for download."

Does anyone know how to fix this?

It looks like this. It's not only witht his album either.  Like I have some albums where most songs on the album will be able to be downloaded, while 2 or 3 just won't work no matter what I do.  Keep in mind that all the songs are matched already on are on iTunes Match.

Thanks for the help!

No I haven't yet. I have no idea why it's happening, as they were on my phone before I got a new refurbished one.

Did you happen to do a time machine restore on your Mac recently?  I did right before this happened, just trying to see of there's a correlaltion.  Anyway, I figured out kind of a work around. On the songs that won't add to the iPod you basically need to remove them from iCloud the add them again. When I do this they upload instead of match, but at least they work now.

Delete the song in iTunes, check the box that says "remove from iCloud". The on the next pop up, choose "keep file". Then add the song back to iTunes then Control click and "add to iCloud"(or just wait for it to do it on its own), it will then upload the songs then you can download direct to your iPod.

Another possibility that I thought of afterward is to turn off iTunes match on the computer then turn it on again so it rescans the collection, you might try this first since if it works you won't have to do each individual song. Let me know if you try this.

Just jumping in to see if this gets solved. Sorry I don't have an answer...

I am having same issue with iPhone, Laptop and AppleTV. A variety of songs that are in iCloud will not play on any of these 3 devices. I don't have the time to go through my Library and figure out all of them. I will try updating iCloud, but last time I hit update, it messed up my entire collection, smart folders, genius playlists and playlists.

    Fingers crossed (It Just Works)

Same problem here.  I was trying to download my playlist of top-rated music to my iPad for offline listening, and when I got to "terriable lie" by NIN, I got this error.  It seems to impact several of the trakcs on "Pretty Hate Machine" for me.  (And no, I haven't used Time Machine on the impacted machines recently.)

I just hit the same issue on my iPhone with the lead track off an album I hadn't downloaded to the device before. I got this error message, and playing commenced with track #2. It is repeatable. It's not the first time I've had a glitch with iTunes Match (which, overall, works great), but the other glitches all had to do with missing cover art.

I keep seeing this on my iPhone/iPad, did anyone find a proper fix?

Deleting from iCloud and re-matching works, but that is a joke as it's doing this with random songs everywhere.

They are matched songs that are still in the iTunes store and store previews work fine, but try and download and you get the song isn't available for download.

    UPDATE

Interesting one of the songs re-mtached has now changed to 'uploaded' as a status, from the initial (and previous) 'matched' status.

Nothing yet, extremely annoying. And I too noticed that every single song this happens with always matched ,

Then when I re-add it uploads instead.

Yes, every song that had an issue had gone to 'uploaded' after deleting and re-adding.

3 songs on one album failed, even thought the whole album was matched and still available in the store.

I fail to believe more people don't have this issue, in 2 playlists (40 songs) I have 4 songs that failed.

First question is how do you get support for iTunes match, because I can't see any way to.

I'm having the same problem with iTunes match.  New work computer, downloaded a dozen albums (that had matched from some cds I have at home and loaded into iTunes).  Out of the 120 or so songs, 2 songs 'cannot be downloaded'.  I *might* be able to understand something wrong with the whole album (did I import in the correct format, etc, etc) but if #7 of an album isn't working but all the other songs are.. eh.. something else is wrong.
