You need to check to be sure your iMac is compatible with Snow Leopard.  If it's the 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo I think you should be fine - but check.

You'll need to purchase a Snow Leopard install DVD - here's what it looks like at the Apple Store.

There should be somewhere in Argentina where you can get this or order it online.

You'll enjoy Snow Leopard when you get it running!

For the minimum specs for running Snow leopard, this should help you.

Once you are installed check out the combo update   Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1,  then run software update to ensure you have the very latest features.

Do be sure to check the updates suggested in SU before simply applying them (I always look at the download page to be sure the system requirements match my system and I do the downloads manually) It's not a bad idea to do updates in SafeMode and Repair Permissions when you are finished.

You are entirely welcome.  We hadn't heard from you in a while and I feared you were having trouble.  I'm glad everything worked out for you and that you are enjoying SL.  I am staying right here with SL and have no plans to upgrade further especially since Rosetta is no longer an option so  PPC apps will not work beyond SL.

Thanks for the thanks and thanks for taking the time to award points - it's always appreciated.

I am curious - were you unable to find the install DVD there in Argentina?

And thanks too from another member of the Snow Leopard happy band.   Apple may live to regret introducing Lion and abandoning Rosetta.
