Hi GracieE, do you mean the Communities page is not allowing you to select one of the laptop categories, i.e., MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, MacBook, etc and will only allow you into the iPad and iPhone topics? If so we can let the hosts know and let them troubleshoot, that is why they get the big pay checks
To the other question: exactly what do you want to recognize the serial number from the charger, the latptop or service request or registration?
Most chargers that I have had do not have serial numbers, but do have part numbers. What model laptop and charger do you have? No serial numbers, please.
Near the top of this page under your contact info there is a line that provides a hint as to where you are in the Apple Communities. It says something like
Apple Support Communities > iPad > Using iPad > Discussions
Tap or click on Apple Support Communities. That should take you to a list of all communities and you'll then find the Notebook section. Find the type of laptop you have and go from there.
