Q: Can not enable file sharing

What if i can not enable file sharing? I connected my ipad 3 to my imac with the usb cable it came with and the ipad says not charging and its not opening in itunes?

 

I bought a comic book app and need to enable file sharing to i can transfer the cbr files.

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1

    Do you have the latest version of iTunes installed?  If you're not running version 10.6 or later, then it might not recognize the newer iPad.  You also need to be running at least version 10.5.8 of Mac OS X on your iMac.

     

    iTunes is the only way to transfer media (music, videos, apps, etc.) between a computer and an iOS device.  Their is no file sharing option to enable.

    Most USB ports do not provide enough power to charge an iPad, hence the Not Charging message.
