I have had a problem with this EFI frimware 2.6 update, that does not seem to want to be updated. Is there a problem with my MBP or what do i need to do to be able to complete the update and get rid of it.

If anyone could help, please do because everytime i click on software updates, i see this update still there even though i installed it many times, however, its still there. This could only mean one thing either it did not install or there is an error with the software update reporting that its still not updated.

Thank you very much,

To confirm that the firmware was actually installed, read the instructions in the following KB Article:

Per the link the Boot ROM version should be MBP61.0057.B0F.  Why yours end with a "C" is beyond me!  "C" is not even listed in the Article.  Could you double check your System Profiler please and report back the results?

The linked Article also shows a blank regarding the SMC Version.
