Q: security question problem

Hi guys,

 

i bought a new iPad today, and when i try to buy something from the app store it askes me for 3 security questions and answers.

 

i cannot use the 3rd question fiewld - it brings up no options. any ideas?

 

the box is clickable, goes blue but no drop-down appears. i cannot ignore it an continue. i have tried a factory reset and no joy

iPad (3rd gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1

    Same problems. I'm hoping apple contact me asap as I can't download any more content now from app store until I complete these 3 silly questions

    I cannot explain why you are not able to answer the questions on your iPad.

     

    Try this: on a computer, go to http://appleid.apple.com and select "Manage your account". Log in with your Apple ID and password, then select Password and Security from the left column. You will be able to choose your security questions and provide the answers there.

     

    While you are there, add a "rescue email address" that can be used in the event you forget the answers to the questions you choose. The address must be different than your Apple ID and cannot be one of your additional email addresses you already used with an Apple ID.

    That doesn't work. The website requires just 1 security question, whereas the app store requires 3.

    we have this too, just bought it yesterday and same problem.  does anyone have a solution yet?

    I am having this issue too.ive never reported a problem to apple before but is this where we report problems or is there an official email or something?

    Ps I'm on an iPhone that I have had for 18months + so is not just an iPad problem

    Just adding my two cents. Brand new iPhone my wife got yesterday, trying to download some apps, prompts for security question. First two questions can be selected and an answer put in fine, 3rd question will not prompt a list of options. It's as if no options are there for the 3rd question and so the button does nothing.

     

    Until it's resolved I can't seem to use the app store at all.

     

    Brand new iphone, fully up to date, brand new apple id.

    I have the same problem, can't access the third question. However my daughter has a separate I tunes account and she hasn't been asked to set up the security questions. Both accounts are two years old. This is a nightmare I can't use the AppStore at all. Does anyone know how to report this as an individual

    We have the same problem - the third security question highlights in blue but will not drop down or allow us to choose a question and we cannot complete the form,

    had same problem with my new ipad - couldn't access third question.

     

    sorted it by downloading app through itunes on my imac. again had to set up 3 questions but had no problem there accessing the third question.

     

    happily downloading apps on ipad now. good luck

    Yes Im having the same problem......quite comforting to know Im not alone though!......sorry didnt see this and have posted a similar query

    Go to: expresslane.apple.com

    Under product categories choose iTunes

    Then iTunes store

    Then account management

    Press continue.

    Now choose iTunes store security and answer the bullet questions and click continue.

    Sign in with your appleid and press continue

    Under contact options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would like your security/challenge questions reset. Click send.

    iTunes will respond to you within 24 hours by email
