Q: How to set up (older) airport express WDS on LAN?
I want to set up 2 older model Airport express base stations as an airtunes WDS on my LAN and provide wireless internet connectivity from them as well. I had it working but the settings must have been changed so now things are on the blink and I'm having trouble restoring my setup. The LAN runs off a Verizon fios router and is populated with static and DHCP addressed devices. The WDS base station is connected to the router via a switch, and is also connected to a printer and speaker system. The WDS remote station is connected to a second speaker system. iTunes running on an old iBook is streaming music to the WDS and I can get music on both speaker systems but my airport card-equipped Macbook does not connect now. I have the LAN router and DNS servers entered in both Airport express stations and WDS base station and remote station options checked in the respective units. Should I set the Airport express base and remote stations TCP/IP settings manually or choose DHCP? Will I need to use NAT on the Airport express and what address range should I use or can everything be set up with static IP#s to do what I want? Can the remote staion be set up to configure itself directly from the base station?
Thanks in advance for any insights.
