How do I load an audio book into the 6th generation ipod nano that I've downloaded from the public library? I've never used an iPod before and the user manual doesn't speak to this.

iPod nano, Mac OS X (10.7.3), 6th Generation

You must install OverDrive Media Console v3.2 (or newer) to transfer select WMA Audiobooks to your iPod.  If you downloaded an audiobook using an older version of Overdrive Media Console, then follow the instructions below:

Install OMC v3.2 or newer.  Once OMC v3.2 (or newer) is installed:

Remove the title from the OverDrive Media Console:

    1. Open the OverDrive Media Console and delete the problem title(s).

    2. Verify that the title has been removed from the following folder: C:Documents and Settings{username}My DocumentsMy Media{format of book}{name of book}

    Clear the Temporary Internet Files:

    Internet Explorer 6:

    1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.

    2. On the 'General' tab, in the 'Temporary Internet Files' section, click the 'Delete Files' button.

    3. Check the 'Delete all offline content' checkbox.

    4. Once completed, please also click the ‘Delete Cookies’ button.

    5. Click 'OK'.

    Internet Explorer 7:

    1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.

    2. On the 'General' tab, in the Browsing history' section, click the 'Delete' button.

    3. Click the 'Delete all’ button at the bottom of this menu.

    4. Click 'Yes'.

    Internet Explorer 8:

    1. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools > Internet Options.

    2. On the 'General' tab, in the 'Browsing history' section, click the 'Delete' button.

    3. In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, clear all of the check boxes except for 'Temporary Internet Files'.

    4. Click 'Delete'.

Return to the OverDrive Downloadable Media Collection to download the title again. Once the title is downloaded,  transfer the title to your iPod using the OverDrive Media Console:

    1. Connect a portable player to your computer.

    2. In OverDrive Media Console, highlight the title you wish to transfer and click the 'Transfer' button. The OverDrive Media Console Transfer Wizard is displayed.

    3. Verify that the correct title is displayed on the first screen of the Transfer Wizard and click 'Next'. The Transfer Wizard searches for a connected portable device.

    4. In the 'Confirm' dialog box, select the Part(s) you want to transfer by checking the box(es) next to the Part name(s).

    5. Click 'Next' to begin transferring the file(s) to the device. When the file transfer is complete, the Transfer Wizard displays a 'success' message.

    6. Click 'Finish' to exit the Transfer Wizard. Disconnect the portable device.

Sorry.  You're right.  This will only help someone with the iPod and a Windows system..  My bad.
