Everytime I have ever tried to restore my iPhone (or any other Apple device for that matter) it says that the "update server cannot be contacted or is temporarily unavailable."

I have tried the following:

  • I have the most current version of iTunes
  • I have the most current software updates for my computer (OSX 10.7.4)
  • I have tried restarting my computer
  • I don't have any security software installed

I plug the phone into another person's iTunes and I can immediately restore the phone with no problems. (this other person's iTunes is on the same wireless network as the computer I tried it on previously.

Does anyone have any other ideas why I have never been able to contact the update server?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
