Q: Software update

I was trying to search the update using Apple Software Update, it shows nothing in the list but I know my iTunes and bootcamp are not the latest version.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.3), bootcamp

Go to Help option in iTunes menu bar. There you will find 'check for updates' option.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple website:

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Does that go through any better for you?

I am guessing it is an internet problem. What that software does, is it checks a particular part of the internet to see if it needs to be updated. If this particular part of the internet was having problems, then updates would not happen.

It could also be that it needs to update from the last version of the software to work. This would be that your software was too old to update, and the software would need to be updated another way, or reinstalled entirely.

apple's software updates are very efficient they will download the latest version availabe and install it it has nothing to do with the previous version.

I, too, don't have any luck recently with Apple Software Updater. I want to know why it doesn't. I always download and install the latest S/W available, but for the past several months I've had to go to the Apple site in order to do so.
