Jun 11, 2012 9:10 PM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby Apple-Toni,Ok so I wonder what the Apple store is offering to do for repair if it's not replaceable?
And can it be bypassed with FireWire to my other MacBook as an external hard drive or something?

Jun 25, 2012 10:17 AM in response to Apple-Toniby cainrand,I just recovered data from a Macbook Pro (2006) and from a Mac Powerbook G4. It required disassembly of the laptops and removal of the hard drives, then connect to a working computer and find and transfer data. I used a Windows workstation to do the transfer, but this also requires software like MacDrive to read the Mac data.
