To perform a pram reset, press Command + Option (alt) + P + R at the same time right after you have pressed the power button.
If you mac boots, you'll hear the start up chime once, keep holding Command + Option (alt) + P + R till you have heard the start-up chime for the second time. The second chime will sound extremely loud (don't scare from it ).
With kind regards,
SMC didnt work, when i push the SMC a red led started to burn
How give i a pram reset ?
"Push the smc..."? You don't push anything. Pull the plug. Wait 15 seconds. Put the plug back in. Wait 5 seconds. Then try the power on.
Yeah i push the SMC button above the memory slots in met mainbord behind the fan
The other smc dont work either, i have pull the plug, wait 15 second, put the plug back wait 5 or 10 second and when i push the power button, no power........
I had a similar problem recently on my 2009 Mac Pro. After much toing and froing had the logic board replaced and all was well. My opinion was that the thermostat had started to malfunction. Nobody told me that but a number of things lead me to that conclusion. I my instance the machine would start after being left idle over night and then shut down after a short period of operation. When it did restart the fans sounded like a 747 taking off, hence the thermostat theory. Like I said, never got anything official from Apple about it, but it seemed a reasonable explanation to me. (They also replaced the hard drive and the power supply in the process).
