Cannot reply to the previous discussion, so I'm creating a new one to reply to Matthey and Etresoft

I have tried this on different browsers, in different user accounts, and on different systems running different versions of OS X (Lion, Leopard, and ML), and have tried it in Windows (WinXP, and Win8 DP), but have still not been able to reply. All reply functions call a void(0) javascript function, which should not happen despite what Etresoft mentioned in a previous reply to one of my posts about this issue. The Apple discussions have javascript functions similar to the following that will spur the posting page whenever you create a new post or reply to one. Unfortunately I cannot get the specific URL of the reply function (this one is for a new post), so if someone could copy and paste it here (right-click the "Reply" link and copy it, followed by pasting it in a reply here) then that would allow me to run it and see if I can spur a reply of sorts:

    Hi Topher,

When I follow the link I see the posting area for a new Question and not an existing thread

I am still unable to reply on my MacBook Pro, but COULD reply from my '06 MacBook. Both are running Lion. I think this is an ASC issue and the community hosts have informed us that they are looking into it.

    HI Again,

I cannot get a successful "Copy" of the Link in the other thread.

    I get  " javascript:void(0); "

I also had some strange errors this morning when trying to log in from my iPad. A little later it worked fine.

The "Reply" link is a Javascript function attached to a DOM event. On sites where there is so much behind-the-scenes Javascript, you can have problems with there are site upgrades because you are using old Javascript. You have to close all of your windows to the site, clear your caches, and quit your browser. If you do all of that while the site is still flaky, you may have to do it all over again once they get the kicks straightened out.

    Ahh,

    Thanks.

AS I close down the computer at the end of each evening and reboot around 7 - 7.30 the next evening it would seem I miss some of this.

I was totally unaware of any issues until I saw the threads.

Using Firefox 12 at present.  (Some boots I have use Firefox 13)

    Topher,

Everything seems back to normal now for me.

I had a theory that the problem might have been due to certain versions of software that I cannot go into detail about.

It appears that was not the case.

Anyway, I hope you've got your Reply abilities back.

    Matt
