Unless you're getting that error when plugging the accessory into your iPad, it's normal. The camera connection kit doesn't work with the iPhone or iPod touch. Only the iPad.

It doesn't seem to work, but the product description says it works with iphone except 3G:

The Camera Connector features a USB interface. Just plug it into the dock connector port on your iPad, then attach your digital camera or iPhone using a USB cable (not included). iPhone 3G is not supported.

I think I've solved the problem: I plugged the camera connector into the ipad and the ipad/iphone cable without the connector into the iphone.

Ah, so you are trying to transfer photos from one device to the other. Well yes, thats because, as I said, the CCK is only compatible with the iPad. You can plug the iPhone into it as though it were any other camera, but it won't work the other way around.

CCK will go from phone/iTouch to the ipad, but not the other way. The iPhone doesn't support photo import as far as I know.
