Hello, while booting you can hold comand key so the boot menu pop up, when you have reched that menu scroll to the recovery harddrive and press enter.

Are you using a bluetooth keyboard? Sometimes they can be a "pain".
The time to press ant of the boot key sequences is just after or during the boot chime.
If you cannot boot into the recovery partition with it's key sequence then I would assume you would also have a problem booting into the boot list using the option key (not the command key).

Ah, I only see one disk, my primary. Maybe the problem is I upgraded from Snow Leopard and so the recovery HD was never created?
