In April 2011 I bought an iMac 27 ". In November, begin the problems with gray spots in the corners. I took it to Apple technical support here in Chile and the part was replaced because the warranty was in effect.

In April this year, again began to appear stains. Again I took it for service, but this time I should paid around $ 1,000 for the repair (obviously i said NO).

How can a piece fails so soon and Apple doesn't takes over the situation, forcing their loyal customers (all my computers are Apple), to pay for the repair of a factory fault?

Is there any legal way to force Apple to answer for the repair or replacement of the part (LCD)?

Thanks!

You might try writing to Apple Customer Service and explain what happened and what you've done.  You might also try calling the Apple Customer Service phone number in Chile and ask to speak to a supervisor. There is also an Apple Customer Relations phone number in the US 1-800-767-2775.  Some people with problems have had luck there with resolving problems.  If you do talk to anyone, be polite but firm.  Explain what the problem is, what you've done to resolve it in the past, that it has now returned and you'd like some help. I don't know whether or not there is a similar phone number available in Chile.

As far as legal remedies, that would be consistent with Chilean laws and regulations.  Unless someone on this forum has information, you'd have to do checking locally.

In the future, you should purchase Apple Care.  It gives you a full 3 years of warranty service, access to tech support, etc/

Apple keeps records on ALL of its products. If you have a warranty they know about it and will honor it.

The person in charge of the MacOnline Technical Services, tell me due i bought the imac in a retail store (Ripley), the equipment that i bought in May of 2012,  has an expired warranty at the system. Because the first purchase of the equipment was made by the store.

    what can i do?

If you lost the ticket, there's nothing to do.

I have solved this issue sending the ticket (and MY purchase date - not the original-), and the guarantee was valid again.

I've purchased the "Apple Care Extended Service" to avoid any more problems.

Anyway after the second fix of the screen everything goes ok

    Good luck with your problem!
