I'm currently having a problem with my iPod. I was just mowing the lawn and listening to music. I got a sweaty from the sun. When I went inside, it was a little wet. Nothing major. When I was looking at one of my messages, the iPod just very very dimly flickered and shut off. I don't know if a little water went in to the crack that groes from the lower left corner to the upper right corner. It is a jailbroken iPod. I tried to restore it factory settings in my iTunes. It will not work. Can anyone help me or tell me why it won't turn on? Thanks for the help.  ~Lucy

Could be many things. However, jailbreaking your iPod means that Apple will no longer supply support, including support from this Apple forum.

Yeah. I know the warrenty lasted a year. But if I took it to an Apple store, do you think they'd be able to turn it back on? I've tried restarting my computer, checking for uypdates, all of that and it still doesn't work. My iPod did get very hot. I'm not sure why.

Probably not. Most likely the moisture has shorted out components inside. If so, your only option will be to pay Apple's out-of-warranty replacement charge, or send the iPod to a third-party repair service.

    Regards.

Contact the jailbreaker for assistance.  Neither Apple nor anyone on the forum can help you as we do not know the characteristics of your device.

What do you mean by the characteristics of my your device?

How much does Apple's out-of-warranty replacement charge cost?

I just got my iPod to turn on, but I can't see anything on it unless I have a light shinning on the screen. I tried turning up the brightness, but that didn't do anything.

We don't know how your iPod is supposed to work.  Only the jailbreaker knows.  Contact the jailbreaker for assistance.

If it's showing a picture, then it sounds like a failed backlight. Whether or not Apple will touch a jailbroken device is something you'll have to ask. If the iPod had completely failed, the jaibreak would have been irrelevant, but since it hasn't, they can detect the jailbreak and may refuse service in which case you'll have to resort to independent repair services.
