I am sorry to bother you with this stupid question....
Same issue as everyone else and I do think that deleting my email would fix it but I do not know how to delete the account from my iphone. I went to setting and tried to figure it out but....
Thank you for any help!
My reason for doing this is to have an icloud account that I can use exclusively for my iphone without messing up outlook for mac with another email address. I would llike to be able to use an .me account simply for iphone emails that cannot wait or I need to mail something.

Go to settings/iCloud and tap delete account. This only deletes the iCloud from your iPhone. It will give the option to save iCloud Contacts and Calendar on the iPhone. You can then login to iCloud using another email id or create a new .me email account.

My problem is that somewhere along the line I have acquired 2 icloud accounts. One that has my .mac email address and the other that has no email name attached to it (this one I used to sign in here). My problem is that when I uploaded my music to the cloud it was using the non email account. I can't access the music on my ipad or iphone because the icloud account on these is the one associated with .mac email. When I delete the account from the phone as suggested above I can't use the other account in the icloud setup because it requires a .mac address.
When I turn on iTunes Match in settings it says that this computer has not been set up for iTunes Match.
Any suggestions?? (Hope people understand what my problem is from what I have written).

Hi, I'm just replying randomly to a post hoping that someone may find this useful.
If you need to set up your icloud with a new email address. First of all you need to delete the already existing email on icoud. Delete the email set up on the mail app. Then create a new apple ID on your phone once the previous email address has been deleted from all apps. Basically the Apple ID needs to be set to the new one and then you need to recreate your icloud email. If not the phone will find a mismatch when you try to set up the new icloud account as it will find the old email addy in the Apple ID. Hope this makes sense and people find this useful.
I had difficulty resetting the icloud email but managed to do it eventually. I can't exactly remember the sequence in which I changed everything but this is the basic idea behind it.
Hope it helps!

GZukes' method totally works. Your old email will still be under username, but you can now delete it and enter a new username and password, or start a new me.com address. I had not used the same username and password for the App store, so I had no issues with apps purchased with the iCloud username. I merged the account, however, and have had no problems thus far.

I had (and still have) my daughter's email account as my iCloud email address. This is what i did (after much investigation) to send and receive emails from my own address. Go to settings: mail, contacts, calendars. Under Accounts, touch 'Add Account'. This brings up a whole lot of options. I originally thought i had a microsoft exchange account because i use microsoft outlook on my home pc to send and receive emails, but i didn't. I then touched 'other' which is the last option on this list. This brings up a page with Mail, Contacts and Calendars. Under 'Mail' touch 'Add Mail Account'. Type in your name and then your email account, together with your password (when i send and receive emails through microsoft outlook, i don't use a password. But if i want to access emails from other than my home computer, i have to do it through Sky.com and use my log in details and password - this is the password i used). Touch 'next' and it will verify that you are entitled to access this account. Then, in settings: mail, contacts, calendars; scroll down to where it says 'default account' and the new account that you've just input should be visible. Touch it and it becomes your default account. I suddenly had 50 emails on my phone!! I am able to send and receive emails. The only thing i still have a bit of a problem with is sending video clips. On the iCloud account, they sent without any difficulty but from my sky account, they get stuck in the outbox, which eventually comes up with a message telling me something about the outgoing server being incorrect (but it is correct) so i don't understand that, but otherwise i now have access to my own email account. I hope this helps.

@Oliverdumoulin hey thanks for the info... would you kindly explain how to transfer info onto my phone as you suggested? i recently changed my apple id onto a new email address and lost half my contacts on my phone because i couldn't change my icloud to match my apple id. so now i have changed it back to my old email address to hopefully get back my contacts. (am i making sense? ) ... eventually i need to change my Apple ID and iCloud ID again but hopefully without losing any data.

I had the same problem and it worked well!! thx for the help. The only thing is that it deleted the Photo Stream from my iPhone when deleting the Account.

I tried this and got a warning that deleting this account would delete all Photo Stream photos and documents stored in iCloud would be deleted from my iPhone... This is the stuff that I really want to keep. Is there any way to keep it?

Well I went for an adapted version of GZukes suggestion... Because I didn't want to duplicate everything AND wanted to keep all the history of my iCal (my iPhone kept only the last year or so), I first "moved" everything on my Mac (my main source), i.e. iCal data (long bit so-able by exporting each calendar from the old AppleID and imported an a new one on the "new" AppleID (in my case, the original one). Then I switched the AppleID on my iPhone. Only shortcoming (but somewhat expected): my notes didn't follow as it does require an @icloud address...
Thanks anyway. Could not have made it without this thread!
