Q: Ring tones etc.

Hej

I just boght an iPhone 3GS. I have 2 questions. 1) Is it not possible to have FaceTime on this phone?

2) The phone doesn't ring and there is no alert sound when someone calls or texts me. It just vibrates, even though I have chosen via Settings/Sounds and have turned Vibrate to Off. When I go through the samples of various sounds I can hear them, so it's not the volume that is turned down. Is there somewhere I need to check or confirm when I have chosen the sounds I want?
