Q: I put my iMac to sleep. The screen stays black. Tried every thing, unplugging etc. The computer sound comes on but no picture. Black screen.
The sound on my imac goes on. But the screen stays black. I put the mac to sleep and it won't restart. I've tried unplugging it with no success. Any suggestions?

Start up using our original grey install disc while holding the C key. Select your language and when you get to the screen with a top menu bar go to Utilities menu and select Disk Utility. repair your start up disk. Quit Disk Utility and restart
