Thanks for this. I followed most of these instructions, but no incoming mail on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard until I checked the "Use SSL" box (noting that it's required in your instructions) next to the port number in Mail's Preferences/Advanced. As soon as I did that, the port number "993" appeared, and after saving my changes, quitting Mail and restarting, my new account retrieved all my stored Inbox messages and I was good to go.
