If you have moved to iCloud both Aperture 3.3 and iPhoto 9.3 now will prompt you at launch to download your MobileMe albums. This has to be done for each library separately. The galleries will only be downloaded to the library they have been published from. The MobileMe servers seem to be very busy today. I waited half an hour to download three (empty) albums.

What are your experiences with MobileMe galleries (for those that already switched to iCloud)?

For those not yet moved to iCloud see this discussion: Re: "MobileMe has been discontinued" - cannot close dialog

I clicked OK but have had difficulty getting it to download.  It ran for several hours but then exited with an error.  Trying a second time, hopefully it is just temporary server congestion...

    Thanks, timyu.

I deleted all my Mobileme albums a long time ago, so I cannot check, if the download would actually work. Did your second attempt succeed?

    (Using Aperture 3.3)

So, my first and second attempts (all on July 1st) failed with errors.

Trying one more time this morning (July 2nd), it successfully completed.  It created a folder under the Projects subheading entitled "From MobileMe" containing all of my albums.

Interestingly, the two attempts that failed on July 1st seemed to create a folder under the Aperture "Albums" subheading, not the Projects subheading. I wonder if Apple actually changed something behind the scenes between 7/1 and 7/2... alternatively the simpler explanation is that this was somehow related to excess server load on the first day of service.

Thanks for the follow up, Tim.

It created a folder under the Projects subheading entitled "From MobileMe" containing all of my albums.

That is where I found my albums too, yesterday.

I'm not sure about that. This certainly would require a software update on your machine? I did not see any installers run since yesterday.

Probably it is due to the high network traffic?

I was getting quite angry at Apple!

You are welcome. And could you migrate your galleries by now, or are there still problems?

Hello: The transfer to "From MobileMe" went just fine. My question is: Any sugestions on what to do or use in liu of the "Galleries"? I was using them to show "proofs" to my clients. Can I create a simmilar "Gallery" with Aperture 3.2.3  to be saved and then uploaded to...let say, the account that hosts my website? I have plenty of room there. I don't feel comfortable putting client photos on Facebook or Flicker.
