I always use Iphoto to import my photos from my camera and it has always worked greate until now I did all the same, and when they are done importing a window pops up and says: Keep files or delet files. I decited to delet files. Then 52 of 68 og them are black. So my photos are deleted from my camera and almost all are black on iphoto. What can I do???

    What version of iPhoto?

Have you tried rotating one and then reverting to original? For some "black photos" issues this has been reported as a fix

As a general improved workflow it is best to never have any computer program including iPhoto delete your photos form the camera - import and after at least one complete successful backup cycle use the camera's format command to reformat the memory card (I use three large cars and rotate them so I typically have about a year's worth of photos on cards before I delete the oldest ones

I found it out, I just had to edit the photo just a little and then the photo came up, just like you said.

    Thank you !!

And it is worth reporting to Apple - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback

    This is a bug

MMM...wow!  I did exactly as Kristen did and got the shock of my life - 90% of photos I just imported were black after I'd taken the prompt to delete photos from camera post import.  The black photos showed up as 190KB versus the 10% of photos which correctly imported at 3.5MB each - so my assumption was that I'd lost them. Amazingly, per LarryHN's suggestion, I rotated the black photos and they appeared - needed to move to next photo and back before rotation again (ie. reverting to original straight after rotation lost the picture again).   In any event, all photos there, I'm happy, curious little bug...and I'm not going to use iphoto to delete photos from my camera again.   Cheers indeed for the tip LarryHN!

Please someone save me!! I just encountered the same problem. After importing my pictures on the iphone via image capture. I cannot find the pictures anywhere. They are not in the iPhoto. Someone please save me. I tried rebuilding the iphoto library. This did not help.
