Jul 3, 2012 6:47 PM in response to OCxLoveby rbrylawski,Are you like 12 years old? Your posts certainly in both recent threads on this topic would certainly lead us to believe you are quite immature. Haha.

Jul 23, 2012 12:50 AM in response to rbrylawskiby asiliram, yeah you really showed him with that "adult" response. U could just admit you where wrong and harsh in your first response and everybody would move on from it.
I have the exact same problem. I myself have 2 AppleID's and I am now looking to consolidate to one AppleID. I have bought some music I would like to transfer to one AppleId... both mine. No stealing. Why should I have to pay for something twice???
And for the None Expert user... this is totally not understandable that this is not possible. My father just bought an iPad3.. having an iPad1 already. He is past 60 years old... and does not know much about this. He did not know he could use an exiting appleId and ended up creating another. Now thankfully... He told me about it and I was able to stop him before he made any purchases. He was too upset that all his previouse purchases was gone. This ended well this time... but I can definetly see this happing again and again with inexperienced users.
I definetly think Apple should provide this option. I did not know the first time I created and AppleID on an Hotmail account that I was tied down to that forever... as I now have stopped using hotmail and gone to gmail... it is annyoing to have to still remember my old hotmccount

Jul 23, 2012 1:23 AM in response to asiliramby asiliram,I just realized I have this problem in two areas.
I have an old Macbook Pro... where I have used my AppleId to download Lion OSx.
I have just bought a new Macbook Pro with Retine and Lions OSx already installed... and as I am for recling.. I want to give this old Macbook Pro to my sister... and therefore I would definetly like to transfer a couple of purchases to her AppleId... Now that she will be using it and not me.

Jul 25, 2012 11:02 PM in response to rbrylawskiby abiggs,Wow the fanboys in the thread are making my brain hurt...
Please forget for a second about license agreements. Let's just approach this with some common sense:
• My wife and I have separate AppleIDs for our personal iCloud stuff, and a joint account for iCloud stuff we want to share (contacts, calendars, etc)
• Our iTunes music and iOS apps are on my personal ID (have had that one since AppleID existed...)
• All we want to do is move our music and apps to the main shared account so she doesn't need to have my iCloud account on her devices & type in my password every time she buys content...
• All these accounts are linked to the same credit card, owned by the same people, used on the same devices
Is this an unreasonable request? If somone released a 3rd party tool to achieved this, would you call us "pirates" for using it?

Jul 30, 2012 6:42 AM in response to rbrylawskiby fosojedi,I have to agree with the others...this is an extremely arrogant and obnoxious response. I'm not an apple user, so I haven't participated in this forum, but I have participated in other computer programming forums for a long time, so I've seen this type of response before. It's neither helpful nor useful.
To assume that someone is just trying to steal songs tells a lot about your character IMHO. I made it to this forum because I have two apple id's. One is from about 7 years ago and I, for whatever reason, created a new apple id using a new email address and new payment information. I now have about a quarter of my music on my old profile and the rest on the new one. This is not normally a problem because I can authorize multiple accounts.
However, just recently, a large number of my files have been corrupted (through transferring between different hard drives as computers started to die or as hard drives started to be too small). Most of them, I can re-download and restore the corrupted files that way. However, I can't do that with multiple accounts on the same machine within 90 days apparently. So, I was searching to see if I could combine my two profiles into one.
As I found out, from others on this site, Apple doesn't allow this...with somewhat understandable reasons (ie. trying to prevent theft). A simple, "Currently, Apple doesn't allow you to transfer purchases from one profile to the next." would have sufficed and would have been an appropriate response.

Jul 30, 2012 7:25 AM in response to fosojediby Dah•veed,However, I can't do that with multiple accounts on the same machine within 90 days apparently.
Have you actually tried to authorize multiple accounts on the same computer? I think you are misunderstanding this restriction, the 90 days applies to associated devices; iPhones, iPads iPods and Apple TVs. You should have no issues authorizing iTunes on your computer for both of your Apple IDs and their iTunes/Mac App Store accounts and the acccounts' content.
Although I agree, the first response to the OP was stated rashly, the OP was asking about content piracy. Unless he and his sister are young folks living under the same roof in their parent's household, the End User License Agreement does not allow the sharing of iTunes or Mac App Store content. So inquiring about how to transfer his sister's content from her Apple ID to his, was a request for info on how to pirate the content, which is stealing. But I would have stated it differently.

Jul 30, 2012 8:07 AM in response to Dah•veedby fosojedi,I had some corrupted files on both accounts. With my current account, I was able to re-download those files and restore them. Then, on the same computer, I signed in with the older account and tried to download the other files and it gave me the following message: "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days."
I have both accounts authorized on my computer right now and there are no issues with that. I just have corrupted files that I'm trying to re-download. I like that Apple has given us that option again at least.

Jul 30, 2012 8:46 AM in response to fosojediby Dah•veed,Good to know that the 90 days doesn't just apply to the iOS devices.

Aug 2, 2012 5:42 AM in response to Lan_Holmesby xiongfan,Mine is simillar! For whatever reason, (I sure don't know why) my password quit working. No matter how many times I tried to change it, that famous email Apple is supposed to send after I answer the security questions NEVER COMES so I had to create a new Apple ID. Now I have all these apps I purchased on the unaccessable account just sitting there. When I buy a new device I can't get them.
Even Sony does better than this. A similar problemwith Sony can eentually be resolved by talkingbto a human.. Not so with Apple.. Like that one idiot said..."buy them again"! That's sad!

Aug 6, 2012 7:51 PM in response to rbrylawskiby GetToThePoint,I hate to bring up old topics, but I am searching for a similar answer. I tried to read though all the posts looking for a well reasoned explanation and got tired of the childish bickering. I think most everyone overlooked, or at least did not mention, the most logical case for transfering purchases. Believe it or not, many kids have an iPod, iPad, and/or iPhone. I am trying to find out a way to transfer previous purchases of songs and apps made using a single family ID (Mom & Dad actually monitored and paid for the apps and music). I understand there are ways around this like a separate ID for each child with gift cards / allowance. However, it makes sense that when a child gets to an age where they have a job and can support their own discretionary spending that the apps, music, movies, etc. should be allowed to be transfered. And no, they did not have the foresight to create separate IDs for each member of the household when they started with Apple. I doubt the "genious" at the not Apple store mentioned that would be a good idea.
All sarcasm aside, is there actually an Apple employee that monitors this and can shed light on the subject?

No, this is a user-to-user technical support form. Apple doesn't participate here. I'm not sure what light you're expecting, though. At this point, you can't transfer purchases from one ID to another. The fact that it may be a good idea doesn't change that. You can submit feedback to Apple requesting that they consider this option:

Aug 11, 2012 6:01 AM in response to rbrylawskiby MarkeD1234321,I'm here looking for how to consolidate my purchases between my work and home emails, but what I find is a lot of answers from estabilished forum trolls (led by rbrylawski) who seem to think their big e-***** means they can use it to place it up the behind of new forum members, using patronising, misunderstood, rude tones to stranger members of the public. Its like being on YouTube.
It reflects very poorly on Apple that established members troll new members to the forum. My 5 year old doesn't speak to people like that, and I'd be ashamed to write similar. If you speak to people like that in real life, thats even worse. If you haven't an answer, perhaps refrain from answering at all, but that would of course mean a smaller post count to wave in people's faces.
This post is likely pointless to correct an internet troll's behaviour, but other forum members abused by such I hope will ignore all hot air ranted from these attention seekers.

Aug 14, 2012 2:50 AM in response to Lan_Holmesby asiliram,I just incountered another situation where this is needed.
I have just been on vacation with my sister and her 2 young kids. I brought my iPad, she did not bring hers. One night she was not around the kids and I was playing on the iPad and we found a childrens book that they wanted to read. I bought it on my appleID as that is the most convenient (hazzle to change AppleId when purchasing, and I don't know my sisters id or password, nor was she around and we needed it at that time).
Now, after vacation the kids still want to listen to the book over and over again. I don't!! but I can't transfer the purchase to my sisters ID... she has to buy the book again!! When in reality this was bought for the kids... not for me.
ANNOYING!! for something that usually works great (the ipad) this is REALLY POOR implementation and an exploitation of the iPad users and their money. When do you ever buy a toy or a book the stoor twice to kids?! You don't.. you just hand over the book and my sister would have given me the money back.
I incourage ALL to send feedback to Apple requestion this functionality... not just writing in this forum.

Aug 14, 2012 2:53 AM in response to asiliramby Dah•veed,Actually, this is nothing the same. Even if you couldcombine your content from two different Apple IDs, you couldn't do what you desribe. Content from the iTunes Store does not carry a license for you to give an audio book that you purchased to someone else. Period. That is piracy.
