Safari randomly appeared with no toolbars. I have to Force Quit in order to get back to my desktop. Connection's OK; downloaded Safari for Lion, but no change.
Not an answer to your question but does cmd Q work rather than a force quit?
Force quits are not nice they sometimes cause corruption.
Howard, are you viewing Safari in the full-screen mode? If so, your menu will disappear. You can find the setting
in the View Menu -- down at the bottom: Enter (or leave) full-screen.
Since he had to force quit I assume he does not have access to the View menu.
Do you mean the Toolbar (Safari) or the Menubar (OSX).
If you loose the menubar/safaribar you can get it back by moving the mousepointer up up up against the top of the screen.
If you loose Toolbars in Safari go to the Safari Menu/View and unhide them.
If he is full screen, he can drag down the menu bar by putting his cursor up at the very top of the screen.
Another way is to press the escape key to get out of full-screen mode.
