Jul 5, 2012 5:47 AM in response to carmenjblissby Carolyn Samit,That's normal and won't affect pages loading one way or the other. Something else is preventing pages from loading.
Go to Safari > Preferences > Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that OFF, quit then relaunch Safari to test.
If it's not an extensions issues, back to Safari > Preferences > Security. Deselect: Enable plug ins
Quit then relaunch Safari. If pages load as they should, then you need to troubleshoot thid party plugins > Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
And make sure Safari is in the Applications folder.

Jul 5, 2012 6:43 AM in response to carmenjblissby Linc Davis,What exactly happens when you try to load a page?
All pages, or only some? If only some, give an example.
Mac OS version? Safari version?

Jul 5, 2012 6:51 PM in response to Linc Davisby carmenjbliss,Hi Lync,
I open safari and it opens but then just stops with a blank screen and the blue line up the top about an eighth of the way across the web address. Then that's it that's where it stays.
OS is OS X Version 10.7.4
Safari is Version 5.1.6 (7534.56.5)
It is also affecting my Mail, Mail won't load any new emails.
Thanks

Jul 5, 2012 6:58 PM in response to carmenjblissby Linc Davis,Launch the Network Utility application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Network Utility in the page that opens.
Step 1
Select the Lookup tab and enter
www.apple.com
in the address field. Press return. Post the output – the text, please, not a screenshot.
Step 2
Select the Ping tab and do the same.

Sep 13, 2014 4:38 AM in response to Linc Davisby Ocianhamelsmith,I am having the same problem. The only difference is that every apple app that used the internet doesn't work, for example iTunes, mail, App Store and messages. That google thing was up but said updates haven't been preformed in 3 days which is the amount of time it wasn't working. I have done that ping and lookup thing. The lookup is only saying lookup has started.. Www.apple.com -> 23.194.234.183
the ping have more.
Oh my he my google chrome browser was working but only stopped today.
SHould I type out the ping results?
