Q: iMac Memory Upgrade

I have a 21.5-inch Mid 2011 iMac with 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 Processer. Apple put the maximum memory for this machine at 16GB as seen here iMac: Memory specifications and upgrades On these support forums as well as online I have read claims of upgrading to 32GB of memory for this machine. Are these calaims true? Please enlighten me as to the maximum memory my iMac is capable of running. What am I missing? Thank you.

Yes those claims are true. Go to Crucial or OWC for the best value/quality/warranties.

    hey there!

Planning to get a 13 inch mac book pro retina. need advice on what config to choose, for running windows 8 or 8.1 with parallels installed. on a tight budget so want to get the best possible config within confines of the budget ($1500). Was thinking of  2.6 core i5 with 8 GB RAM. will this config work trouble free for running windows applications simultaneously with ios? or should i upgrade to 16 GB RAM ?. if i get the 8 GB RAM , will the windows / ios working slow down? Please advice.

    1. Thanks.
