You're right - it should be 9,2 - not 9,1. I'd hope that other 2012 15" MBP users would chime in here to see what they show in system report.

The support page on Apple's site has been updated. 13" macs are 9,2 and the 15" macs are 9,1.

I have the same issue.
Tomorrow I'm gonna call Apple and maybe then can help me out. I will post you what came out.

If you look at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4132 the 15" non-retina MacBook Pro is actually 9,1.
There was a typo in their documentation which has now been corrected.
