Im having a problem with my macbook pro 2007. i just got a new battery; the old one was broken. The instructions said to fully charge and then discharge for 3 cycles. i did 3 cycles and my mac turned off.the battery says 4 lights, but my mac says 0%. the mag safe adapter is always green. please help asap. i bought this so i could take it places and so far i might need to use my money back warranty. tell me if i should just order a new one, and if not, please tell me an answer. i have tried resetting the smc but it didnt work.
Is this a Mac with one of the removable, user-replaceable batteries? If so, you should just be able to follow the instructions at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490. If it's a built-in battery, there's no reason to fully discharge it - no need to recalibrate the battery.
