Q: Ibook will not shut properly

• iBook's might be old but after 7 years some ibooks still work like a new macbook pro or air. No you should not return it. i got mine from ebay for 118.87 with everything even the original box the ibook came with even the system install disks.

i guess not because mine came with every little thing that the ibook originaly came with. My ibook's tech specs:

ibook g4, 12'' screen, powerpc g4, 768mb RAM, 1.33GHz processer, airport exteme on, bluetooth on, came with leopard but is now tiger because of finder error. i got mine very cheap! i don't think that was a great deal. I wish my ibook still had leopard!!!!!!

Seems the inverter board has been replaced and has not been put back together correctly. Often when people replace the inverter boards they don't always fit back correctly. (Bit of an art to fitting them) This makes the screen bezel stick out. You would need to take the screen off the unit and remove the bezel. Reseat the inverter board and leads where possible and put back together. Easy if your handy with the screwdriver, else it would be a repair shop. Really shouldn't have been sold to you in that condition.

what if the guy that sold you your ibook fixed that and didn't put the screen right.

And where is the iBook G4 logo at the bottom of the display?

I agree, it should never have been sold to anyone in that condition.

the logo is in the first picture. i see ibook g4 but it's a little hard to see it.
