Thank you very much. Anyway i bought this Mac for 45€ (about 55 US$) so i won't buy (nore download!) any of those old OS which are too expensive.
The friend who sold me this G3 told me that it actually had OS Panther installed and for some reasons another partition with 8.5. I don't know why but i can only boot from 8.5 and i can't change boot disk...any suggestion?

If you boot while holding key combinations you might be able to start in OS X.
Start from OS X - X (some machines)
Select Start Up Disk - Option
Reset PRAM - Cmd+Option+P+R
If not then go to the OS 8.5 control panel Startup and see if any other OS shows up. This probably will not work with 8.5 though.
Lastly try the utilities Disk First Aid and Drive Setup to see if the partition will show up.
The older Mac OSs are terribly overpriced especially when the few who want them are people trying to keep the old stuff running.

The Startup Disk control panel which comes with OS 9.1 and earlier, including all OS 8 versions, is not capable of recognizing any version of OS X as a viable OS, and so those can not be selected.
The solution, if you do not want to update the older OS to OS 9.2.x, is to update just the Startup Disk control panel. There is a separate download available (free) just for that. Although the download page refers to OS 9.1, it has been tested successfully by users of OS 8.5 and 8.6 -

I've already tried it and the only one that works is Cmd+Option+P+R but after resetting the PRAM nothing changes.

Thank you very much, because of you i know that is normal that i can't select to boot from the OSX partition from OS 8.5. There's another problem, the version of Startup Disk you linked me actually doesn't work for me, it says "This version of Startup Disk requires OS 9.0 or later". Is there any particular procedure to make it work on 8.5?
