I am having problems actually using Aperture after the update. Keeps giving me an error about a connection to Facebook. If I push ok it will just repeat itself. The only way out is to just completely turn off my computer. Anyone else having this problem and if so how do you fix it?

Hm. Hard to tell what you're running into without seeing it. Can you take a screenshot of the error (Command-Shift-4 and drag the rectangle over the error dialog) and post it on here?

Great! Also, is it 3.3 you're running?

I'm having exactly the same error with v3.3 latest App store update. Seems to occur for me when my macbook pro has been sleeping and I open the lid.

The error message pop up box says: There was a problem connecting to facebook: The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -1.)

Pressing OK repeats this ad infinitum. Force Quitting Apeture is the only fix I've found.

Note Apeture when working normally is able to access my facebook albums perfectly fine.

    Definately a bug and repeatable.

I'm also seeing this with v3.3 every since the download.  Aperture repeated attempts to sync the Facebook albums list and seems to either fail (giving a dialogue box that has to be acknowledged) or making Aperture pretty much unusable - permanent spinning wheel, only solution is force kill - then after a while it happens again!

Are there any error messages or diagnostics in the Console window, when this error occurs?

Please don't post the complete error log, only the entries from the time the problem occured.

I have the same problem since I upgraded.  In addition since the upgrade to 3.3.1 when naming people in the photos Aperture no longer "autofills" the names from facebook friends or my list of faces.  In the past I would type "J" and it would give you a choice of "john Smith" with a FB icon or "John" from my list of face albums.  It now requires you to type the entire name and of course creates a new "face" file if you don't type it exactly the same soooooo frustrating!

I can't help but think this and the error message "can't connect" are related.

On another thread I read the suggetion to go to Preferences and on the Web tab to UNcheck the box to automatically check for newly published albums.  I tried it and my errors seem to have disappeared.

HI there I'm also haveing this problem. Just unable to connect to Facebook. Constantly getting this error whilst trying to connect to my Facebook account for the first time:"unknown error occurred: please try again later". I am accessing this via Aperture > prefs > Web > 'add an account' and also trying via the toolbar > share > Facebook.

I am using Aperture 3.3.2 (connected to the web). Have checked my passwords are correct. I did have a previous connection with Aperture and FB, this was removed from FB > Apps.

Under the web tab, I have no accounts, so there is no ability to uncheck "automatically check..."

    Any ideas?

With thanks in advance too for any assistance.

    Rob

I just bought Aperture and have the same problem. I can connect to Facebook via iPhoto straight away. But Aperture doesn't allow me to do it. Suck for a 90$ program.
