nope. i'll try and turn it on tomorrow and see if i'll get lucky..this *****... that hard drive had all my family pix and videos that can never be replaced....plus some jewelry designs that i'll never be able to reproduce....;-(
It is not a matter of will you lost data that is a certainty. The question is when.
If the data is valuable enough to you, there are service that can recover data from drive that appear dead. It is expensive like $$$$ but it can be done.
yup.. I'm usually very careful to do it, as a matter fact i have some duplicates on a different computer, but not the latest stuff.
its not the end of the world. Maybe something positive will come out of it...

Before giving up all together, try the drive in another mac. I had the same problem. Still don't understand why it wouldn't work on one of our macs, but worked fine on the other.
