Jun 1, 2012 2:46 PM in response to laundry bleachby MizBrown,This doesn't work if you can't upgrade to a newer version of iPhoto, which I can't since I'm an expatriate with my credit card in the US (the US card company has my out of country address and other on-line companies accept it just fine). Apple broke this and did not suggest a way to fix it other than by updating iPhoto.

Jul 14, 2012 2:05 AM in response to GlobalVby n-cooke,I have the same problem with RW2 files (from Panasonic GF1). Used to be fine but since ugrading to Lion I can no longer see the thumbnails, quickview only shows a small image rather than the usual full image (and it cannot be resized) and they will not open in Preview. This also means RW2 files cannot be viewed in CoverFlow mode. Tried the above link, but when I install I get a message saying a more recent version is already installed and the installation terminates.
Would welcome any suggestions.

Jul 14, 2012 9:40 AM in response to GlobalVby n-cooke,If you haven't already, try the suggestion at "https://discussions.apple.com/message/18369759#18369759". Running the instruction in Terminal ha given me Preview for GF1 RW2 files. Still haven't got thumbnails and coverflow back, but only for those I've copied onto my Mac since upgrading to Lion - all the ones I already have are fine. Will try to reimport now that Preview is working and see if this fixes the last bit.

Jul 14, 2012 9:49 AM in response to GlobalVby n-cooke,ok, have copied the photos again from the memory card and hey presto, it all works fine. So in summary...for RW2 files from GF1 camera, I have no thumbnail images, couldn't view in Preview, and neither Quickview nor Coverview were working. Ran the bit of code provided at "https://discussions.apple.com/message/18369759#18369759" (thanks to Snoop Dogg) and then recopied the photos onto my Mac (only required for photos copied since upgrading to Lion, everything from before the upgrade is fine anyway).
Hope others find this helpful.
