I have been working on a little project lately in iMovie 9.0.6.  Everything has been going fine, but two days ago, when I opened the project and went to insert a few transitions, I noticed some were missing.  Specifically, earlier in the project I had used the ripple effect.  I went back to grab it again, and it's not there.  Also, as my project runs past this effect earlier in the project, it just goes to a black screen.

I am not a Mac expert by any means.  Working on a new (right before the ALL NEW MB Pro, naturally!) MB Pro.  OS X 10.7.4

I did recently add iDVD, in the round-about way that I found on support communities, but i had the transitions after that, so I wouldn't think it had anything to do with it.

Any help is appreicated.

I notice the same today when I went to add the Ripple transition - it is no longer in the transition list. It must have been deleted in the last iMovie update. Not sure why???

Please tell Apple about this and ask them to re-instate it in their next iMovie update.

    Go to and select "iMovie."

If enough people request for this transition to be installed they will do so in the nest update.

"Please re-instate the "Ripple" transition in iMovie.

Now that it has been removed in the latest update all of my movies have black gaps where the transition used to be."
