Q: How may I connect a new Apple TV to an older TV without a DMI input port?

HOW MAY I CONNECT A NEW APPLE TV TO AN OLDER TV WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A HDMI  INPUT PORT?

    With difficulty.

     

    You might find an HDMI to component or composite adapter of some kind but they are not mainstream products because they require conversion of a digital signal to analogue and that signal may be encrypted - bypassing that encryption may not be legal.

     

    AppleTV requires HDMI encryption for many things (HDCP) and if that is not avaialble a converter may fail.

    I use "hdmi to component converter" to connect apple tv with my old plasma tv by component cable. Sound is ok but the picture split 2screens left and right. Still can't fix it. Anyone can help or has any idea?
