It probably came from your bank. It is completely incompatible with Apple OS X whatever Trusteer tell you.
How to uninstall Rapport, by Trusteer:

Thanks Klaus and Linc for the info. and I have uninstalled the software but can I be sure that all files are gone and will not cause any other problems? Is there any other clean up I need to do?

Trusteer Rapport is Snake Oil. It is very strange that leading banks strongly recommend it. I wonder what's in it for whom exactly.

I have come across numerous Safari crash reports where Trusteer / Rapport was the cause. Best to steer clear of that software.

Like others I had a problem when loading safari on my i mac tried all sorts but finally found out that it was rapport when removing it everything came back to normal. It was even worse on my windows laptop all my browsers seem to be in treacle took ages to get anywhere I thought it was my firewall zone alarm not getting on with firefox etc then I finally uninstalled it and bingo everything is back to normal, its a bit of a pig to uninstall after removing it on the laptop (add/remove) it still left 94 files that I then removed in safe mode. Trusteer rapport need to get it sorted.
