I've recently upgraded to OSX Lion and now it takes at least 4 minutes for my system to load. It recognises the trackpad and keyboard but it won't allow me to scroll, move or select anything on the screen even though both Bluetooth devices are discoverable and working.

When it does load it works perfectly.

I've tried to reinstall lion (that didn't work - error message) and the usual help instructions. but when i try and reboot and use the Command R it does nothing!

I can't even revert to the previous OSX

please help!!

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.

Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Post the messages from the last installation attempt, starting from the time when you launched the Installer or Software Update.

Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

Most of my comments are related to operations after loading because I do not restart my iMac frequently. But possibly the amount of memory your iMac has would affect loading too.

How much memory does it have? Performance on my iMac was great until I upgraded to Lion. Since then it has been sluggish and I am in the process of upgrading memory to 6MB from the 3MB it came with.

While operating it was frequently very very slow. By running the activity monitor I noticed that Firefox and Safari were both consuming a lot of memory and I switched to using Google Chrome as my default browser. Things have been much better since.
