Jul 19, 2012 6:46 PM in response to walkerwrby Vivalajuicykay ,The best way I know is to go to settings.. iCloud..... Manage storage... Click on device..... Show all apps... Turn the apps you don't want sync on off.... Make sure everything you want sync is on iCloud... Factory reset everything... Log back into iCloud it's like having a brand new device.... THIS TIME ONLY DOWNLOAD USEFULL APPS.... HOPE THIS HELPS EVERYONE....

Purchased content does NOT count against your useable account quota limit. Apple stores all your lists of purchased items on their dime and their space. Your free 5GB or whatever more you pay for is for YOUR files and data.
P.S. And think about it, why would Apple fill Tb of server space with peoples apps and such that were purchased from their very own store. They already have that material stored on the iTunes and App store servers, so all they need to keep extra for each user is a simple list of purchases, and then link them back to the source files for redownload.

Jan 14, 2013 12:31 PM in response to Vivalajuicykayby andiev1,It's not deleting the apps that's a problem, it's removing them from your purchased items in the App Store. This is not an option right now and it's really frustrating when you've downloaded a rubbish app, no longer want it, yet it clutters up your purchased items. Please Apple, for those of use who like to be tidy, please address this issue as it would seem its frustrating for many if us with iOS devices, thanks.

Mar 16, 2013 8:52 PM in response to Steve Taylor1by Murphybp2,Steve, how do you get to the purchase history in iTunes to show the apps so you can hover over them? I have the latest version of iTunes (11.0.2), and I can't find any screen that looks like the screen shots in this article. I click on the purchase history icon I have in the left hand navigation of iTunes, under the Store Heading, but it only shows me musice I've purchased. It doesn't show any apps. I also tried going into my account and selecting the purchase history from there, but it only shows me an itemized list of apps I've purchased with prices. The closest thing I found was under the iTunes in the Cloud section under my account, there is a link for viewing hidden purchases. That looked like the screen shots in the article, but it doesn't show all the apps, just those I hid in the past through my iPhone. But unfortunately they way I did it before doesn't seem to work anymore on my phone.

Mar 16, 2013 8:54 PM in response to Murphybp2by Murphybp2,Just found it. For anyone else, go to the iTunes store. Then click on the link for the App Store on the top navigatin bar. Then on the right hand side of the main page there is a section called App Store Quick Links. Select the link for Purchase History.

More FUD for this thread - Apps DO NOT COUNT against your iCloud account storage. Your apps are NOT stored in your personal iCloud account. Deleting apps from your device or your computer or anywhere else for that matter will have NO IMPACT at all on your iCloud online storage.

Sep 3, 2013 10:57 AM in response to walkerwrby sc008y,I have a slightly different twist... I have downloaded an app (iPhone) and have inadvertantly denied it settings somehow. There doesn't seem to be a way to alter settings for this app (no menu options) or an item for it in Settings. When I delete the app and try to re-download it, I get a cloud icon in the App Store, and if I go ahead and download it again, it remembers the original setup. It's a free app, so I'm not worried about money... I need to download this app like it's brand new (like my iPhone never saw it before). How do I get rid of the cloud download icon in the App Store?
(apologies if this doesn't have anything to do with this thread, I just can't find the answer)
Thanks,

Sep 3, 2013 12:01 PM in response to sc008yby Salmantino25,Try delete the app and use iCleaner to clean the temp files. If this doesn´t help you will have to restore your iphone. To delete an app from icloud - you can only hide it. In order to do that open itunes on your pc and go to iTunes Store then to purchased and once u´re there by moving the mouse on your purchased apps you will see an X, click on that ¨x¨ and it will ask you if you wanna fide that app from your purchased history.
Hope that helps you.

Sep 18, 2013 2:20 PM in response to Michael Blackby kthrynileen1,Okay - I must be confused about iCloud storage... I'm in Manage Storage under iCloud on my phone and there are 5 apps listed under Documents and Data - does that not mean they are part of the storage tally? The only edit option is to delete it from all devices... Is that in fact what will happen if I delete the app from iCloud?
